No fewer than 118,101 students who sat for the May/June West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations will not have their results released after allegedly engaging in various acts of examination malpractice.
This was revealed to Daily Sun by the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) of WAEC, who disclosed that it is holding on to results of the candidates over allegations of examination malpractice.
The allegations include copying from textbooks, use of mobile handsets and prepared answers allegedly smuggled into the examination hall, among others.
