Technology Security Solution to curb terrorism, vrime set for launch

Barring any unforeseen, Hawk Eye, one of the most advanced crime management platform with crime reporting and management utility is set for launch in Abuja on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.  The solution integrates the Hawk Eye Mobile phone app for the public, the iPolice mobile app for the officers on the field and a control room dashboard and dispatch functionality.

The system will empower citizens to work with the police in the fight to curb incidences of terrorism, especially Boko Haram and other violent crimes.

It was developed by Lagos based tech firm Web Assets Nigeria Limited, in partnership with US based tech firms BBGN&K and tech giant Microsoft along with the active collaboration of the Nigeria Police.

Speaking ahead of the launch in Abuja,Mr. Kayode Aladesuyi, Chief Executive Officer, Web Assets, noted that the security challenges facing Nigeria are surmountable with proper synergy between the security agencies and members of the public; a synergy that Hawk Eye embodies.

According to Mr. Aladesuyi, “Hawk Eye is a demonstration of the commitment of the Nigerian Police to work in partnership with communities and the Nigerian public to continue to improve the security situation across the country.”Hawk Eye is a revolutionary technology because of the enterprise tools it provides police to respond, address and manage crimes reported, he added.

He remarked that Hawk Eye may well be the technology to close the relationship between the citizens and the police, thus providing human intelligence required for more effective policing, crime control and security.

The Tech enthusiast explained that with Hawk Eye, citizens are empowered as source of human intelligence in the fight against crimes such as kidnapping, terrorism, robbery, human trafficking etc. The system is expected to enhance the community policing plan recently announced by the government to improve security in the country. The project is managed by DIG ICT, Foluso Adebanjo of the Nigeria Police Force. All reporting is ANONYMOUS, the app does not identify nor capture the information of person filing report.

Citizens can download the Hawk Eye Crime Reporting app for free select crime type to be reported capture image, video or call for help. The system uses GPS location services on the user’s mobile phone to identify user’s location for immediate police response.

Hawk Eye truly empowers citizens to report crime anonymously 24/7, stay safe with the ‘find me’ locator and to receive public announcement during emergencies. It equally provides the Nigeria Police with the right resources for effective and efficient response to crimes reported by citizens.

The system is now available for reporting by citizens in FCT and coming to Lagos in September with roll out planned for other States.

Hawk Eye is available in English and Native languages (English, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba and Pidgin).

With Hawk Eye access to report criminal and other nefarious activities is only an app click away. He urged Nigeria to ‘Spot It. Report It!’

OMG! Man gets revenge on school bully by sleeping with his mum and boasts about it live on radio

Prepare yourself to listen to one of the most unbelievable recordings ever. A woman had a date with a much younger man and never heard from him again, so she called a radio station to ask for help in reaching him since he won't return her calls, but what he revealed was extremely shocking.

The call was recorded and has been shared online. The woman, having slept with the boy on the first date, thought they had a future together but when he did not call her back, she decided to enlist the help of a local radio show. She called up the radio hosts in Boston, introduced herself, then informed them that she slept with a boy 20 years her junior and wanted to meet him again.

The woman was asked to stay on the line and they called up the boy. When the hosts told him why they were calling, the boy informed them that he only slept with the woman to get back at her son for bullying him. He showed no remorse and even informed the woman that he would send a photo he took of his d* in the woman's mouth to the woman's son with the words "I win."

The recording was just so painful to listen to and the woman sounded really hurt. When the DJ called Rob, he told him: "She called us and told us, according to her, how great the date was, by the way - you my friend are a master in the bedroom - and she said that she'd like to see you again, but she hasn't been able to get in contact with you."

"Wait a minute, so she called you because she thinks I'm great and she wants to go out with me?," Rob replied.

"Yeah, we're calling because you wouldn't call her back."

Rob adds: "I can't believe this is happening right now. This is hilarious."

When the radio show asked why he hadn't returned her calls, he said: "Look, this is going to make me sound like a huge a
e, but whatever, so this is all kind of a revenge thing. I saw her online, I recognised her last name and it turns out her son actually used to bully the st out of me and so I figured if I could f* his mum, I could rub it in his face."

Arielle was on the line and also heard his astonishing plot to get revenge on her son Sam.

A shocked Arielle asks: "You're friend with Sam?"

"No, I'm not friends with your ae son," Rob adds. "He was a total p*k to me and ruined my life. And now I've returned the favour."

Photos: First Lady Grace Mugabe allegedly assaults 20-year-old South African model she found in hotel room with her two sons

A 20-year-old South African model has claimed she was assaulted by Grace Mugabe, wife of Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe.

According to Gabriella Engels, she was assaulted by Mugabe’s wife at a hotel in Sandton‚ Johannesburg‚ around 9pm on Sunday night after she went to visit the Zimbabwean president’s two sons.

“We were chilling in a hotel room‚ and they were in the room next door‚” Engels said.

“She came in and started hitting us. The front of my forehead is busted open. I’m a model and I make my money based on my looks‚” she said.

She said Mrs Mugabe proceeded to beat her and two of her friends with an extension chord‚ while the two sons ran away and the Mugabe bodyguards looked on. She said she suffered gashes to her forehead and scalp.

“What is a girl compared to a woman beating you and 10+ bodyguards standing back‚ leaving her to do this sh*t‚” she tweeted about the incident.

Engels said she went to the nearest police station on Sunday night‚ but was shown away by the police officer on duty‚ who told her to first seek medical attention.

Gabriella’s mother‚ Debbie‚ said they were going to the police station to open an assault case on Monday.

“When she got home I was already sleeping. She was in so much shock‚ she couldn’t tell me what happened‚” Debbie said.

“I rushed her to the hospital to get stitches and when she eventually calmed down‚ she told me she was assaulted by Mugabe’s wife‚” she said.

Zimbabwean news has reported that Grace was in South Africa for treatment following a “freak accident” in which she injured her right ankle.

Garnet Basson‚ CEO of The Capital hotel group‚ where the alleged assault took place‚ said there was an incident that prompted management to ask guests to leave the hotel.

“What happened in the hotel room‚ I don’t have a comment on ... I can’t disclose the name. We did have guests removed from the premises due to a scenario where we thought it was not good for them to stay there.

“It was almost a forceful exit‚ but it wasn’t. It was a decent exit after about a half an hour of discussions.”

'North Korea doesn't have the technology to attack the U.S.. for a year at least'- S.Korean Military reveal

The South Korean military say they believe North Korea doesn't yet have capability to launch a nuclear missile towards the U.S, but that in a year or two years time they might perfect the technology.

This follows threats in recents weeks from Pyongyang towards the United States as their leader, Kim Jung Un, threatend to possibly execute a missile strike on Guam, a U.S. territory in Asia with an American military base.

According to Reuters, South Korea's Vice Defense Minister Suh Choo-suk said on a Korea Broadcasting System, Monday, that North Korea has yet to master missile re-entry technology.

"Both the United States and South Korea do not believe North Korea has yet completely gained re-entry technology in material engineering terms," he said.

"We don't feel they've reached that point yet but it's true they are approaching it. We can't pinpoint the exact timing, but it will take at least one to two more years," Suh added.

U.S. Central Intelligence Agency Director Mike Pompeo agree that Kim Jong Un will continue to test his weapons and provoke actions from the U.S government.

"I am quite confident that he will continue to try to develop his missile program, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was another missile test," Pompeo told "Fox News Sunday.”

Shocking story of domestic violence: Pregnant Nigerian woman who died after brutal beating by husband, buried with her baby

"Unfortunately for Sylvia or Chinyere as she was fondly called by family and close friends, she did not live to tell her own story. She was cut down in her prime by the man she loved till death did them part Obinna Akaleme, her husband. She died on the day she was due to give birth after series of miscarriages in her husband’s house.

Chinyere Sylvia Akaleme (nee Igbo) was born on 27 april 1981 into the family of Mr and Mrs Reginald Chiaka Igbo. The second child and 1st daughter of the family with six other siblings, Sylvia was raised in a middle-class Catholic family residing in Ajao estate, lagos where she had her nursery, primary and secondary education. She was a very bright pupil and her position in class never went below the top three. She gained admission into the university of Ilorin in Kwara state where she read electrical engineering and graduated with second class honours. She started a career in information technology and quickly got several professional qualifications including sisco into her academic profile. She started her working career with Karox computers before moving on to reliance info systems ltd where she became a product and sales manager

Sylvia at work

Her last job was with the Wini group, an Ikeja based corporation.

In 2012 she met and married Obinna Akaleme a farmer/ chef/ kitchen assistant and thus began her journey to an untimely death in the hands of the man she loved so much and catered for. She died on the on the 29th of march 2017 and she was committed to mother earth at the Ikoyi cemetery on the 19th of july 2017.

Engr sylvia is survived by her aged grandmother, her parents, siblings, uncles, aunties, nephews and nieces. May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.

What Happened?

Her parents and siblings never knew Chinyere endured several years of abuse in the hands of the man she called a husband. She assumed the role of a typical Nigerian wife who must always display a non-existent happiness in a marriage filled with sadness and regrets. The only clue about what happened to her during her over five years of marriage was the account of the neighbors who narrated how on a particular night Obinna her husband beat her up and she ran to their landlords house for safety. Also the little girl who lived with her revealed that Chinyere warned her not to tell her parents that her husband used to beat her up even while she was over eight months pregnant.

That explained the reason behind the series of miscarriages she had before her last pregnancy which was full term. Her parents got worried that their daughter had about four miscarriages in less than four years decided to take her to come stay with them when she took-in after her eight month old miscarriage. She lived peacefully with her parents and her pregnancy advanced with Chinyere in good health and high spirits anticipating the birth of her child. Unfortunately for her, on her due date, Obinna, her husband came to pick her up from her father’s house at 10 am to the hospital and as a dutiful wife she was, she obeyed him and went with him. According to the doctor, the mother and the baby were confirmed healthy on arrival and Doctor asked her to go get her bag in preparation for delivery that evening. Obinna took Chinyere to their matrimonial home. Sadly for Chinyere, he got into an argument with her over money, beat her up so badly and left her unconscious in the house. He left the house and switched off his phone and her phone so no one could reach them. He left her in the house and every attempt made to reach them was futile. He later returned and took her to the hospital when he discovered she was dying at about 4.30pm and did not deem it fit to contact her parents or siblings, he did this so as not to run the risk of her coming out of coma and telling her family her ordeal at the hands of her husband, it is also worthy to note that the hospital were she died is less than a hundred metres from her parent’s house. Obinna eventually came to her parents house around 8.30pm to tell them she had passed on. Further findings from her siblings and the doctor’s confirmation revealed that Chinyere was brought to the hospital lifeless (practically dead).

The doctor decided to do a cesarean session to try and save the baby but it was all in vain.

Chinyere’s sad story is one among millions of Nigerian women who fall victim to sexual and emotional predators because they want to be accepted by the society at large . They hide their ordeal from the very people that can rescue them. Their families. Women nowadays? pretend that they are in happy marriages even when the obvious signs says otherwise. For how long will we keep up with this trend of pretending all is well when it obviously isn’t? Must we live a lie for societal acceptance? Let’s come together and say no to domestic violence and spousal abuse. There are many families like Chinyere’s who wish their children had remained single and lived with them instead of getting married and killed by their partners. Enough is enough.

Photo: Dwarf mother and daughter arrested in Ogun State for dealing in cannabis

43-year-old woman, Alaba Mulika and her 16-year-old daughter, Olamide Saliu were arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly trading in cannabis.

The mother and daughter duo are 'little people'.

The duo were paraded alongside 56 other suspects on Thursday, by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu at the command’s headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta, I

Briefing newsmen on the arrest of the mother and daughter, Iliyasu said that Mulika had involved in the sale of the illicit drug for more than five years

"On August 5, at about 10:00 a.m., operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) got information about the sale of Indian hemp in Awa Ijebu, so they stormed the town and raided the suspects’ joint" said IIiyasu.

“On getting there, they found the woman and her daughter selling hemp, skunk and other drugs and arrested them with their exhibits,” he added.

It was learnt that Mulika was arrested by SARS about two years ago and handed over to the state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

In an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, Mulika, who said she was an Oru indigene but lives in Awa Ijebu, confirmed that she was arrested because she was selling Indian hemp.

“I didn’t have any problem with the traditional ruler of Awa-Ijebu; it is the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the town who said he doesn’t want people selling Indian hemp.

“I know Indian hemp is not good, and the Nigerian law does not support trading in it, but I am into it in order to survive. My husband is late. My daughter, Olamide, was not helping me to sell Indian hemp; we were just together in the shop when policemen came to arrest me.

“When I was told to stop selling Indian hemp, I agreed, but I pleaded that I should be allowed to finish selling the ones I had. I am ready to stop selling Indian hemp; I am ready to join the theatre industry if I can find someone to introduce me into it.” she said.

On her part, Olamide, admitted that her mother sells Indian hemp.

"But that was what we were surviving on. She feeds eight people along with herself, making nine. My grandma is down with stroke, and my mother’s younger sister, who is also a dwarf, has cancer of the breast. And it is only my mother who is taking care of them all.”

You can't keep treating customers with reckless disregard - Alexx Ekubo calls out DANA airline

Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo is not a happy customer at the moment and he has taken to social media to share his anger by calling out DANA airline over a recent encounter he had with them that didn't end well.

Read his article below...

I'm usually not the type to rant, but today i am beyond upset, this gross Nonchalance & general misconduct by service providers in Nigeria has gone on for to long it needs to STOP, you can't keep treating paying costumers with reckless disregard, & expect them to remain silent forever. Rampant delays & Sporadic cancellation of scheduled flights without concern for the traveler's engagement has now become a Norm in our Aviation Sector.

So yesterday my colleagues & i were booked on the 7:40am flight to Owerri, only for them to announce by 9am that due to "operational reasons" a term airliners now carelessly use, that the flight was moved to 12:30pm, pls note that our engagement was billed to start by 11am, long story short, calls were made top staff were woken up & a plane "Miraculously" surfaced to evacuate us by 10am, we narrowly made the event on time.

Now, today our departure back to lagos was set for 8:45am then for "operational reasons" it was moved to 12pm then for another "operational reason" it was moved to 2pm then 4pm then eventually we left by 5:30pm which leaves me wondering whether they were operationally assembling the plane in the backyard. Also Note that all this while NO member of staff from DANA AIR came to address us or comfort us or even offer us water, all these information you had to go & get from their desk, when i asked the man behind the counter he said that FAAN (Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria) would not allow them come to the departure lounge to address the passengers.

Interestingly we found out that the Md & GM of DANA AIR who was scheduled to be on the same flight as us after a while of delay flew off on AIR PEACE, wow! How cool is that? Perhaps they had more "important things" to do in Lagos than little ol me.

I've come to the logical conclusion that the management of DANA AIR are insensitive, nonchalant, carefree, unperturbed & unbothered of their customers well being & prior engagements.

As an Entertainer all i have is my voice & i've decided to speak forth on an issue that affects all & sundry.

Finally If i can't change the situation i wish i spark the Brain that does.
Good Night All!

Photos: Beautiful Nigerian lady, Hauwa Umar Usman, bags first class in Aeronautical Engineering from UK university

Beautiful Nigerian lady, Hauwa Umar Usman, pictured above, recently graduated with a first class degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Brighton, England. Hauwa who hails from Kano state, is the daughter of Major-General (ret) Umar Tudunwada Usman, who was an Army Chief of Transport and Logistics.

Hauwa's story is so inspiring because while still in school, she was diagnosed with dyslexia but she, however, did not allow the learning difficulty to slow her down.

Speaking to  Global Sentinel, Hauwa revealed why she chose to study Aeronautical engineering.

“My choice to study Aeronautical Engineering was one out of curiosity for aircrafts at a young age. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into due to how challenging and demanding the male dominated course could be. My Father has been very supportive since day one of my academic journey. He had always taught me to be patient, learn from my mistakes and always do my best, because ‘my best is enough. Despite the odds, I was determined that I would not let myself down and most especially my Father. Because, I knew he had sacrificed so much to make sure I have the best education. During my studies in England, I experienced some challenges, which a British friend noticed where signs of dyslexia and suggested that I take a dyslexia test. I had never heard of dyslexia ever in my life. I contacted the dyslexia team at the University and they were very helpful in explaining the disability and I was told that even the smartest scientist like Albert Einstein had this disability.”

Dyslexia is a “specific learning difficulty” that can cause certain problems with the ability used for learning, such as reading, writing, and understanding a task among others. Hauwa stressed that intelligence is not affected as she under took the stages of assessment for dyslexia “and it was discovered that I had a certain level of learning difficulty. The most important thing at that stage in my life was how to manage and develop a strategic way to understand where my difficulties affected me more”.

According to Hauwa, she had her moments of highs and lows during her undergraduate days.

“Whilst studying, I had my ups and downs and at the edge of wanting to give up, I always remembered my father’s words ‘it’s a challenge studying Aeronautical and yet you have come this far and I am so proud of you. My Mother had taught me to never lose hope in anything I do and that my hard work won’t go in vain”

She stressed that her “success in Aeronautical Engineering has been through hard work, stepping out of my comfort zone, understanding strategic ways to manage my learning difficulties, having a positive mind set and most importantly the encouragement from my family and friends during my most challenging times, allowed me to be amongst the very few with a first class degree in Aeronautical Engineering”.

She advised parents not to attack any child because he or she cannot perform a task.

"No child should be hit or beaten because they do not understand a task. The need to diagnose dyslexia in individuals especially at a younger age by both parents and teaching staff in Nigeria must be emphasized more.”

Congrats to her!

"Dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that can cause problems with reading, writing and spelling. It causes problems with certain abilities used for learning, such as reading and writing. Unlike a learning disability, intelligence isn't affected"
